Sebastian Blake is an experienced psychologist who regularly works as a psycho-analyst for various organisations including the police solving a plethora of problems. What makes Sebastian Blake unique is that he is a “Cerekinetic”: That is a person who can make images from his imagination appear as real objects to people. The novel is fictional but there are many eminent scientists around the world working on theories connected to the many branches of inner psychology. It is now known that the average human only uses about one third of his or her brain capacity. Little is known of the unused two thirds but there are many hypotheses for its possible use from telepathy and telekinesis to the ability to cure one’s own physical ailments and many others. One of the other hypotheses is that the human brain is capable of “transmitting” thoughts into reality: This is Cerekinesis.

Blake’s gift of being able to make anything he thinks of materialise is extremely useful to him in his line of work and gets him out of trouble many times. Apart from his "gift" Sebastian Blake is a fairly normal individual. He enjoys eating and drinking, especially in the company of beautiful women. He is also keen on sports. He loves playing tennis which, he does regularly with his best friend, hypnotherapist Michael Deitrich. He watches a lot of soccer and supports Manchester United.

In this first book to feature the character, the eponymous hero gets caught up in the disturbing world of child slavery. The story which is set predominantly in Manchester and Malta and is a sometimes quite dark psychological thriller that will keep the reader guessing to the very end.

The story contains many varied and interesting characters bad and good: Not the least being Tourette Syndrome suffering private detective Lou Shires who will soon be starring in his own novel.

Canaan.jpg

Canaan is the story of a young man’s adventurous journey over time and distance culminating in his part in one of the most famous biblical confrontations of all time: The battle between David and Goliath.

The story is set in the 11th Century B.C. 12 years prior to the meeting of David and Goliath. An 18-year-old farmer called Jared from the town of Ashqelon in Canaan, disillusioned with his life, leaves home with the intention of travelling to Greece. His route takes him to Thebes in Egypt where he meets the love of his life, a young Egyptian girl called Nyla. Their happiness is thwarted when Jared is press-ganged into slavery and forced to work at Dayr al-Madinah the site of many of the ancient Egyptian temples.

Jared eventually escapes and is forced to flee to Greece alone. Once there he builds a life that is catastrophically stolen from him. Almost broken he returns to Canaan and his family in an attempt to rebuild his life.

Canaan is a very acurate factual account of an extremely turbulent era. Murder, rape and mayhem are rife. Sex is open and unrestricted and violence lies around every corner. But it is also a time of great discovery and invention.
